Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Okavango Delta: Kwara Camp (LD)
Arrive into Maun, where you will be met by a camp representative and FLY via light aircraft to Kwara Camp. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. Kwara is located in the remote northern part of the Okavango Delta within the private Kwara concession. Kwara encompasses a wide diversity of habitats, ranging from permanent delta water with reed-lined lagoons and channels, open grasslands, Mopane woodlands and palm fringed islands. The 8 luxury safari-style tents are built on raised teak decks, within a grove of ancient African Ebony trees, overlooking a vast floodplain. Each tent has its own viewing deck; private en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. Whether gliding silently in a mokoro (dug out canoe), through Kwara’s crystal clear waterways, bird watching, fishing, walking on one of the many palm-fringed islands, or going out on a night game drive, the stunning beauty and charm of Kwara will captivate you. Among the waterways of Kwara one will encounter an amazing number and variety of bird species, Kwara is also home to a variety of wild life including Lechwe, sitatunga, reed buck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, tsessebe. Lion, hyena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are abundant and regularly seen.

Day 3 Linyanti Reserve: Lagoon Camp (BLD)
After breakfast, FLY in a light aircraft to Lagoon Camp. Enjoy an afternoon of game viewing. Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River amongst tall and ancient African Ebony & Marula trees, all under the watchful gaze of the resident hippos. Lagoon Camp accommodates only 12 guests in 6 twin bedded luxury safari style tents. Each tent looks out over the water and has private en-suite facilities, including hot and cold running water, open-air showers, flush toilets and modern amenities. Specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles conduct morning and night game drives. This area is home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo that one is unlikely to encounter anywhere else in Africa. The predators are well represented by lion, hyena, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. Among the great variety of antelope species found at Lagoon, the endangered sable and roan are regularly seen. Boat cruises along the Kwando River provide excellent opportunities for birding, as well as specialist fly-fishing for tiger fish and bream.

Day 5 Linyanti Reserve:
Lebala Camp (BLD)

Lebala Camp is situated 30 kilometers to the south of Lagoon Camp and fronts onto the Linyanti Wetlands. Open grasslands scattered with Illala Palms stretch to the south and west of Lebala. The spacious tents are built on raised teak decks and have been specially designed to offer maximum comfort and privacy. The tents have an entrance foyer with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victoria claw foot bathtubs, “his and hers” wash basins and flush toilets. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower with hot and cold running water. Each tent has its own sundeck and is secluded, and set back amongst the trees. The wetlands and flood plains around Lebala offer a wonderful variety of wildlife with excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, Lechwe, zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the ever present predators; wild dog, lion, cheetah and hyena.
