Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1 Mauritius: Le Prince Maurice/Oberoi/Maradiva Villas/Le Saint Géran/Four Seasons Resort/ Anahita Arrive into Mauritius, where you will be met by an AfricaTours representative and driven to your choice of hotel.

Day 2 Mauritius: Le Prince Maurice/Oberoi/Maradiva Villas/Le Saint Géran/Four Seasons Resort/ Anahita Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities. Stroll down the beach, learn to scuba dive or snorkel, or just relax; hire a car and see the island or charter a fishing boat. Mauritius, it is true, is the answer to every island lover’s dream of the ultimate island paradise – miles of unspoilt beaches, fine silver sand, coconut groves fringing turquoise lagoons and an indigo sea. But the Island of Paul & Virginie, despite its small size, also harbors a fascinating hinderland that will not fail to seduce he who wishes to push beyond its sea-grit shirt to probe deeper. Mauritius is in truth a garden of a thousand contrasts, heightened by a variety of microclimates. The north is on the whole sunny, the center and east humid, the south dry with savannahs interspersed with tree groves. Most visitors visit Mauritius for its unrivalled lagoons and incomparable beaches. But there is a pleasant surprise awaiting you. Every visitor very quickly becomes aware of the marked diversity of the population. Indians comprise just over 1 million of the population, Chinese shopkeepers and descendants of African & Malagasy slaves number about 300,000. There are about 30,000 Chinese and about 8,000 whites most of them of French origin. It is one of the few countries in the world where people of different backgrounds live together in peace and harmony.

Day 3 Mauritius: Le Prince Maurice/Oberoi/Maradiva Villas/Le Saint Géran/Four Seasons Resort/ Anahita Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the hotel or explore Mauritius. You may want to visit Pointe aux Roches beach for surfing, Flic en Flac or Bel Mare for swimming. The Balaclava & Eureka Houses are of historical interest. The Riviére Noire Gorges are good hiking areas. There are several regions: there is the region between Benares and Riviére Dragon; Domaine du Chasseur; costal are between Baie du Cap and Le Morné and the Chamarel Falls. The Pamplemousses Gardens and the Naval Museum are also of interest. Don’t forget the local markets in Port Louis.

Day 4 Mauritius: Le Prince Maurice/Oberoi/Maradiva Villas/Le Saint Géran/Four Seasons Resort/ Anahita Spend the day at leisure to enjoy the hotel or explore Mauritius.
